OPEN WATER SWIM SEASON

Open water transforms our minds into an oasis, calling both our mind and body to enter its vastness.

Learn Open Water Swimming Skills:

Keeping calm and collected – smooth and steady is required to traverse open water. You’ll need efficient technique and mental composure.

Swimming without borders – In open water , you are held captive through the duration. You learn to adjust and endure the environment with conviction.

Take cues from natural surroundings –  Sighting off the landscape keeps your direction, allowing you to stay course. Be wary of veering off path.

Mental adjustment to various environments and depths – At times you glimpse what lives and lies below – other times you charge forward with no indication of where the bottom lies. Stay focused.

Reading and respond to current –  Learn to swim with current, rising crests, and riding swells.

LEILA VAZIRI WAS A COMPETITIVE SWIMMER FOR OVER 15 YEARS. SHE GREW UP IN FLORIDA AND REPRESENTED TEAM USA NATIONAL SWIMMING TEAM. IN 2007 IN MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA, LEILA WON A GOLD MEDAL AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WHILE SETTING A WORLD RECORD.
